Dream Catchers is committed to providing services to all regardless of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age, disability and genetic information.
We are Dream Catchers Youth and Family Services, LLC created as a non-profit agency in 2021. As of January of 2022, it was changed into a limited liability corporation under the leadership of Evita Roby, MSW, LSW. Currently, Dream Catchers has one full-time employee, owner, Evita Roby. Services are created to focus on primary prevention defined as those services and programs that positively influence families, parents, caretakers, and children in the general population before abuse or neglect occurs. All services are culturally and linguistically based on family dynamics.
Dream Catchers was created to serve the minority communities that reside in Indiana. It is our hope to acknowledge the unique complexities and intersections of multiple statuses/identities (e.g., socioeconomic status, disability, and immigrant status) and how these may contribute to psychological health in our approach with those we serve.
Dream Catchers Youth and Family Services (DCYFS) mission is to support, educate, advocate, and provide free services to empower families and youth (8-18) living with mental and/or behavioral issues. The programs’ purpose is to positively influence families and at-risk youth before child neglect occurs.
Dream Catchers is owned and operated by Evita Roby trained in motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. During my work history, as a social worker/therapist, I have been fortunate enough to serve different populations.
It was instilled in me at an early age the value of helping others. One of my proudest moments was the opportunity to attended a Historically Black College and University, Lincoln University, where I obtained a B. S. in Sociology with a minor in Education. I continued my education and obtained my MSW from Indiana University Northwest.
During my work history, as a social worker/therapist, I have been fortunate enough to serve different populations, (mentally ill, developed delayed, DCS). My clients have been both young and old. I cannot choose one population over another because I know that there is always more that can be done for each. I find that there is always more time is needed to spend with them or more resources to recommend.
Behavioral health focuses on habits. It also involves how your habits have an impact on your overall mental health and your physical health. The term applies to the actual study of a person’s emotions, biology and behaviors and how these impact his or her mental health. The best way to view behavioral health issues is to see it as a type of mental health study or focus.
Our planning considers the mental and behavioral health of each person based on ethnicity, race, religion, sexual identity, sexual orientation, and gender. We consider how mental and behavioral can be interconnected and multi-faceted. We also recognize the influence that parents or guardians may have on the development of youth; therefore, a focus on single mothers is primary in our strategy.
Our mental and behavioral health programs focus on enhancing a person’s skills and providing needed resources to build self-efficacy to positively deal with:
